Your First Visit
Most new patients with structural needs such as shoulders, knees, back and hip problems are seen within 1-2 days of calling for an appointment. We will have you arrive 30 minutes earlier to fill out the necessary paperwork. If you have x-rays, MRI's or any other reports that you can bring it will help with your appointment. This will include a review of systems and a focused exam of your complaint. D. Horn will usually initiate treatment and discuss your plan.
If you are seeing Dr. Horn for nutritional needs, fibromyalgia, and general health, your appointment will be scheduled for about 1 week from your call. This allows us time to send all the paperwork you need to fill out ahead of time and allows you the time to fill them in.
What about Insurance?
We accept BlueCross BlueShield for covered services. Procedures, tests, etc not covered will be paid for at the time of service.
The goal of our office is to focus solely on your health. For us to truly help you reach your optimum health goals, we need to focus on that. Unfortunately, most insurance companies do not cover a large portion of what we do in our office, and because of this, we have decided to spend more time with our patients and less time fighting a never-ending battle with the insurance companies. However, we understand that you may be paying a great deal of money for your insurance and would prefer to utilize your policy. We make this possible by submitting the necessary forms to the insurance company for you. Most patients receive a reimbursement check within 2-4 weeks.
How many adjustments will I need?
There is no "recipe" which gives the amount of treatments necessary. Each person is unique and so are their problems. The amount of treatments depend on a number of factors including the type of problem, severity, age, general health, lifestyle, complicating factors, and many others. Dr. Horn will explain these factors to you thoroughly. Our first goal is to get you out of pain as quickly as possible. However, our second goal is to eliminate the source of the problem so it will be less likely to return. Dr. Horn will present his recommendations to you, but you always have the final say on how you want to proceed. Most acute cases will begin with 3 visits per week and decrease in frequency as your condition improves.
I have Osteoporosis...can I get adjusted?
Yes! Even if you have osteoporisis, gentle techniques are used, and a great amount of emphasis is placed on your comfort.
Do you refer patients to specialists?
Certainly. Like any other licensed physician, chiropractic physicians refer patients to other health-care professionals when they feel it is appropriate. Dr. Horn will not hesitate to make a referral when it is in your best interest.
