Chiropractic Info

Chiropractic was founded as a healthcare profession in 1895. The founding premise was the body had an innate ability to heal and this ability could be compromised if there was nerve impingement obstructing the flow of nerve impulses. Another term that could be used to describe this compromise is, subluxation. Subluxation in this case, refers to an interference to the body. This could be caused by nerve interference, toxic insult, trauma, and much more. Subluxation in this reference, is not used in the medical sense of an incomplete dislocation.

Doctors of Chiropractic today, are physicians who look at man as an integrated whole being. Special attention is given to the physiological, biochemical, nutritional, emotional, neurological, vascular, musculoskeletal, and environmental relationships of the whole body.

Diversified Technique

This is a manual form of chiropractic manipulative therapy, perhaps one of the older forms of manipulation. Dr. Horn provides this method of manipulation to patients who request it and have been screened for safety.

Drop Table

This method of chiropractic manipulative therapy uses a table that drops a very small distance. The method is gentle and effective. Most patients prefer this manual method because of its safety, comfort, and effectiveness. There is no rotation of the body with this method.

EMI/Acugraph is an acupuncture method of diagnosis and treatment that doesn’t require needles.

This is a method of diagnosis and treatment developed by Robin McKenzie. The treatment approach is physical therapy in nature, without manipulation. Dr. Horn has been trained in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy for the Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar Spine. McKenzie method is often a very effective technique for disc problems and the patients can do much of the therapy on their own.
